Graduates of the Math/CS department are found in a wide range of careers — the examples that follow include graduate school, actuarial science, business, in computers in business, in law, computer programming, in science/engineering jobs, teaching, and more, and they only scratch the surface. If you have more questions about what jobs are available to Math/CS grads, drop by and talk to a member of the department (see math/cs people)!
NWU grads in Graduate School include Charlot Whermeister ('94; Math), Rachel Bunting ('93; Math) and Francois Neville ('92; CS), who are taking courses at UNL. Halcyon Foster ('92; Math) is a graduate student in music in Florida.
Actuarial Scientists from the department include Kelby Hansen ('95; Math) and Terry Bierman ('91; Math), at Mutual of Omaha, and George Wahle ('94; Math) at Surety Life. Michel Spale ('91; Math) is also an actuary, we think with Allstate in Chicago.

Some computer scientists actually do Software Development and Computer Science, such as Patricia Wahle ('95; Math & CS), a software programmer for Sterling Software in Bellevue, Shawn Dempsay ('96; CS), a "software engineer" for the Centri Engineering Group at Cisco Systems, as the Manager of their "CART" (Customer Advocacy Response Team), and Shawn Clymer ('94; Math & CS) at IBM. Jason Schernikau ('94; IS) has started his own company, Triadix, which works with small to mid-size companies implementing automated systems — doing process reengineering, software development, training and some small organizational behavior work! David Moore ('94; Math& CS) is working as a Senior Software Development Analyst for CSG Systems, Inc.
Science and Engineering Jobs are held by Robert Osantowski ('92; Math), in the Sensor Physics Group of the Automation and Measurement Science Department of PacificNW Labs, a Battelle corporation, and Bill Chvala ('92; Math) is an Environmental Engineer also with Pacific NW Labs.
